I am a very proud graduate of the nursing program. Earning my nursing degree 40 years ago (yikes!) opened many doors for me. I have had a wonderful and rewarding career in health care and education. A few years after earning my associate degree in nursing, I obtained my BSN and MSN degrees at UMass Dartmouth, and my PhD in Nursing from Walden University. I have enjoyed my work over the years in acute care nursing, oncology nursing, long term care, community nursing and hospice care. In addition to direct patient care, I have been fortunate to have had had a wonderful career in nursing education. I have been teaching at Diman Regional for the past 30+ years in both the practical nursing program and in the high school's health assisting program. While my past and current career endeavors have been challenging and fulfilling, what I am most proud of is having had the opportunity to have returned to my alma mater here at Bristol and to teach in the nursing program and share my knowledge with our future nurses. I was an adjunct faculty from 2008-2016, and honored to have been the nursing program director from 2016 to 2019. I returned to be an adjunct faculty in the fall of 2024. I plan on retiring in June of 2026.

Sandra Lima-Wenger (Dental Hygiene 1990) is a debut author. Her award-winning historical fiction novel, Beneath the Swaying Willow, which she wrote under the pen name 鈥淎mily D鈥橬as鈥, was published July 23, 2024. Her novel was inspired by her father鈥檚 struggle with PTSD after serving in the United States Army during the Vietnam War era and raises awareness and reduces the stigma of PTSD, soldier suicide, and the mistreatment of our Vietnam era veterans who returned home to a dividend nation. Beneath the Swaying Willow received a positive review from the VVA Veteran- the magazine published by the Vietnam Veterans of America, was the BookFest Fall 鈥24 2nd place winner in the Women鈥檚 Historical Fiction category, and was a Finalist in the 2024 American Writing Awards literary contest for Best Debut Novel. .

I have been a research and instruction librarian with over two decades of dedicated service at Bristol. My expertise in information literacy has recently been highlighted through co-authorship of the book 'Leading Dynamic Information Literacy Programs' published by Routledge last year. My contributions to the field were further recognized at the European Council of Information Literacy in Krakow, Poland, where I presented in the fall of 2023. In addition to my role at Bristol, I head the College's Open Educational Resources (OER) program, demonstrating my commitment to accessible education. I was recently appointed as a representative to the Department of Higher Education's OER advisory board to guide OER initiatives for the college.

Hello fellow alums, since graduating I went on to receive a BA and MFA from Goddard College in Vermont. I am currently living in Providence, RI, and working as the National Media Coordinator for the Elevator Industry Work Preservation Fund, a division of the International Union of Elevator Constructors. For my job, I travel all over the US and Canada producing stories about the mechanics who install, service, and repair elevators, escalators, and other conveyance equipment (check out our website at ). I will soon be publishing a book of poetry called A Complicated Piece of Machinery with Numerous Possibilities for Injury with Cobalt Press, a small independent publisher based on the west coast. One of my daughters graduated from 91系列 in 2021, and the other is a student at Mass College of Art. I remember the nine years I spent as a part-time student at Bristol fondly, and want to encourage other nontraditional students to keep working toward their educational goals, because there are so many opportunities on the other side.

Hello fellow Alumni,

It's been just about 10 years since I have graduated from 91系列 with an associate in criminal justice and certificate in law enforcement. In the last 10 years, my whole life has changed and I'm sure many of you can say the same. Since graduating from 91系列, I have become part of the Bristol County Sheriff's Office as a Correction Officer. I have been with the Sheriff's Office for 9 years and it's been exciting to say the least. I can definitely say that many of the topics I have learned and studied with my time at the college have been applied in my career. Recently, I have decided to go back to school and continue my education in cybersecurity and digital forensics. Law enforcement has always been a passion for me and I believe this new potential career path will lead me to even better opportunities.

I want to say thank you to all my past professors for sharing their experiences in law enforcement and preparing me for the career I've enjoyed. I'm excited to start a new path where it all began.

I鈥檓 excited to share that in February 2025, I was promoted from Administrative Assistant in the Adult Education department to Career Education Advisor for the HiSET online program! This new role allows me to work more closely with students pursuing their high school equivalency and support them on their educational and career journeys.

I鈥檓 truly thrilled about this opportunity to make a bigger impact and help our adult learners achieve their goals in a flexible, online environment.

Shaun Rebello '15

In 2024 I started a new role as Vice President at EQL Games. EQL supplies online games primarily to lotteries including Virginia, Michigan, Washington DC and many others.

Hi Bristol!

Proud alumna here! I graduated in 2016 to complement my bachelor's degree. I changed fields to marine science and achieved a Master's in Ocean Observation Technology at UMass after graduation! Since then, I'm an adjunct professor in our STEM division and work full time as a contractor supporting the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory through Peraton, Inc at Stennis Space Center in Mississippi. I'm so happy to enjoy this life! Thank you for being a step in my journey, Bristol!

Hello everyone! In May 2023, I graduated with my associate degree in behavioral and social sciences. 11 months later, I was hired by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to work as a social worker for the Department of Transitional Assistance. The work I do is so important, and the courses I took at Bristol gave me so many wonderful techniques to use with our clients. My new career gives me a sense of purpose and achievement, and I feel that much more prepared to serve a very vulnerable community with the education I gained at Bristol.

Kerrie Goldsoe '25

A significant personal goal that I accomplished this year was that I bought my first house. Second I will be finishing my degree at Bristol in December 2025.
